do you really want to know?

We have traded vomit for diarreah. Isn't that lovely? Someone needs to invent pepto bismal or immodium for children!!!

Add to the mix that all 3 are now teething again. Yep, that's right...each one has at least one tooth popping in right now.

At least they slept in an extra hour today...regardless of the fact that Mateo ended up in my bed at 2 different times last night for his incontrollable whine/moan/cry. He sounded so pitiful. I am sure it is the molars coming through that is making him so miserable. Oh, and I thoroughly enjoyed Gabby "blowing" through her diaper and into her jammies at 2 different times last night - at least we have lots of jammies!

Off to the dr's again today for a follow up. (Want to make sure we get the a-okay for our trip (drive) down to FL next week.)

I'll try to get some pictures this weekend. I think the monologue (minus the pics) is becoming boring!

the saga continues

For those of you just waiting on the edge of your seat to hear about the wellbeing of the triplets...this post is for you -

Told from the perspective of Mary-

Mommy's last message left off with Gabby and Mateo having the "stomach bugs" and her having to take us to the doctor's office. I dont' understand why she would lay us down for a nap at 10am, only to wake us up by 10:30am so that we could leave. And the rain... augh! I was soaking wet. The doctor's visit was a loooong time and the hour and a half visit resulted in 1 more with an ear infection, Tato, my baby brother. He cried the whole time we were there - probably because I kept pulling the hair on the back of his head. But I was bored and Mommy wasn't giving me crackers and gold fish fast enough. Although sissy's ear (Gabby) isn't infected, I bet she will get sick by the end of the week. The nurse swabbed Mateo and Gabby for the flu, but it came back negative...so they have some sort of other nasty virus. Mommy finally put a video in our dvd player so at least we could watch some tv for a short time. We didn't like being in there!

When we left, it was still raining...and we got all wet again! I was sooo hungry, but we didn't go home. Instead we went to that yucky, smelly place called Walmart...so that Mommy could get Mateo's medicine. Mommy said it would only be a couple of minutes because the doctors office was calling in the RX. But it wasn't!!! We had to walk around and wait for the medicine to be ready.

Poor Mommy. She tried everything to keep us calm. She gave us water out of McDonalds cups (but we kept grabbing them and throwing them on the floor.) And she walked us around, but we kept trying to stand up in our seats.... and I especially like to arch my back and put my head in sissy's face because it makes her mad! And then we lost another Paci... so I got mad and threw a fit. I need my paci. Sissy had to be held at one point.... and finally, they had Mateo's medicine ready. (Mommy gave him a dose in the car before we left.)

Finally we got home and had some toast and juice. We tried to take a nap before dinner... but we were so exhasuted, we just couldn't sleep!

Anyway.... I think Mommy thought that the illness was behind her. But she was wrong! Today, when we went to take Daddy's pager to the hospital, Gabby threw up again in the car. Whoa it smelled!!! So now, Mommy is washing the car seat cover (and lots of clothes) again. She seems to be washing clothes a lot, lately.

no escaping IT

Yes, by "IT" I do mean the nasty, gut wrenching, stenchy puke. I hate the word. Even the word makes my stomach tie up in knots. Is there a better synonym out there? Perhaps purge would be better? (No, I really don't think so....)

I had a great monologue figured out for this blog post, last night at 2am, but it seems to have left my brain at the moment. You all asked for it... play by play's of what is going on in the life of the triplets.... and so you have it....

We have had another re-occurance of the stomach bug. (Ahhhh...that sounds better...but does it even begin to hint at the full force and meaning of what the trio, Lou and I are experiencing at the moment?) I think not. Stomach bug sounds almost cute...and cute, this is not.

Gabby was up all night with the "bug" (we'll use it for the sake of the readers) and an especially high fever. We have a feeling that she has since caught the ear infection that Mary has. And then Mateo woke up this morning - not feeling well .... but it wasn't until an hour or so later that his "bug" christened the rest of us. Poor guy.... seems he can't escape it either. Last week and again, this week. My hope is that he, too, has the same ear infection which will hopefully be remedied by antibiotics. We'll find out at a 11am when we visit the doctor's office. (And by "we" I mean the trio and myself. I just can't keep asking the neighbor to go with me every time I run to the dr's office. Sigh...)

The worst part about all of this isn't necessarily the "bug" - it is that I only have 2 arms and am limited in how much I can consule, hug, and catch "flying bugs". (In addition to wiping down dirty babies.) Now is the time that I really, really need my family and help. Any volunteers? :)

Keeping us in your prayers will suffice....and let's hope that Mommy doesn't catch this nasty bug... she is already beginning to feel squeamish.

our first scare

Last Friday, I had to take the trio to the doctor's office for their montly RSV (bad virus in kids) prevention shot. While we were there, I had them check out Mary's ears since she had been so "not like Mary" lately...and they found a mild ear infection which was to be treated with antibiotics.

Later Friday evening, as Mary lay glued to me...inconsolable and burning up, I took her temp and was horrified to discover it was over 103 degrees!!! A call to the doctor and a quick look at the rash that was developing on Mary immediately led me (and the other 2 kiddo's) to the ER at around 7pm. I was extremely worried that she was having an allergic reaction to the antibiotic and couldn't get to the hospital fast enough!

Poor Mary - vomiting, burning up, and listless... while the other 2 looked on - clueless as to where we were and what was going on. (All they cared about was that they were not having to go to bed just yet! And oh wait, "daddy" was here, too!)

Thankfully, Mary's rash was attributed to her high fever and she wasn't allergic to the medicine. She had a very bad virul infection (due to her ear ache) and was back home by 10pm.

I am sure this is only the first of many ER scares that we will have over the next few years!

three amigo's

This is as good as it gets trying to get them to all pose for a picture at one time! (Where did Mary get that crazy hair???)

don't try this at home...

Gabby continues to amaze me. When she was only a few weeks old, we named her "houdini" and again, she has trumped us with her magic. I was complete suprised to find her in the jumperoo, knowing that I had not put her in it. After taking her out, I found out the "trick" to her magic trick! Unsafe?? Probably.

She was all smiles after we caught her!

go, Mateo, go!

small steps....but at least we're getting somewhere!

(Mary wants to show him how it's done...)

on the bright side...

I CAN handle three runny noses at the same time....just snatch and wipe.

Thank goodness the trio know that I can't handle three puking babies at the same time - so they are taking turns! Mateo 2 days ago, Mary last night... now I am just waiting for Gabby to start. They seem to like to do it late at night, in their cribs...so that the whole household has to wake up :) Fingers crossed that Mommy doesn't get it...or else things will really go down hill from here!

(see - even I can find something good in all of this sickness!)

Lou's big idea :)

I swear, Lou should have gone into business instead of medicine! Check out the website that he found (and created) for the triplets! (see left: fundraiser)

Essentially, it is a secure website where you can go and order magazine subscriptions - and every time someone orders (or renews) a subscription, money goes into a fund for the Triplets. Pretty cool, huh?

So the next time you want to look for a new magazine, or renew one....and it isn't time for your local school kid to come around and sell you one (ahem...Robertson's)....then take a peek and order from this website.

(I wonder if he figured out how many we would have to sell to get our trio through their first year of college in 2024!!!!)

ball pit

I could not wait to post this picture! I LOVE IT!

We finally set up our ball pit this weekend and the trips went crazy. Poor babies...they have been so sick this week that I was glad I found something to cheer them up!

happy valentine's day

Happy Valentine's Day!
The girls are wearing their "sweet-tart" outfits...the pants have little skirts with small conversation hearts.

who's your daddy?

So, I can't help but be a little bit jealous of the fact that as soon as "dad" comes home, all three go running and fight to sit in his lap and jump into his arms. ALL the time. (I only take care of them 24-7, but who's counting, right? Do ya' blame me for being a little sensitive?)

no, (pause) NOW I have met my match

RIDDLE: What do you get when you have 3 sick little ones?

And I thought that things wouldn't get tougher - ha! Yesterday, in route on an errand, we had 2 little vomiters in the car. Yuck! Runny noses, cough, and irritabilty weren't enough stressers for the trio to place upon Mom. Nope, we had to add puke to the picture.

Thank you to Uncle Jeremy for coming over and helping hold a sick baby. Poor things. They just didn't know what to expect or how to handle what had happened.

And as we try (as hard as we possibly can) to remove the nasty stench from the car seats (and the car itself) I realize that this is the worst that it can get... and that the worst isn't so bad afterall.

(I'm typing this the day AFTER it happend, so of course I have the perspective that I can get through it!)

Imagine crying baby x 3!!! (Mommy only has 2 arms, you know!)

Poor Mary, she got stuck wearing brother's outfit when we did our quick clean up. And her and Mateo don't seem to understand that they are supposed to "look" sick when they feel sick!
