the girl with many names

No matter which name you call her.... "the Gator" (nickname from Thomas & Joe), "baby G", "Abigail", "Abby", "Haleya", "Baby" .... she is still growing up way to fast.

in her bumbo...sitting up...eating her fingers (favorite thing to eat)

happy to be joining the family for dinner in her high chair

ISR swim... week 2

We just completed week 2 of our ISR swimming class.... again, this is an intense 6wk (5 days a week, 10 min each day) class that focuses on drowing prevention and teaches kids how to get themselves out of the water and to safety.... and the trio are doing great!

Both Mateo and Mary have learned to float-swim-float (as seen in the video) and Gabby's getting her finger slammed in the door the other day didn't deter her from getting into the water. I am super proud of all three!

TRIO'S working on their floats... love Mateo's smile!

play time

The Garcia kids love to play....

Abby has her own playmat that we use during tummy time... see how much she can lift her head up now?

The girls love to role play as "mommies"....here they are reading a bedtime story to their baby

mateo loves to be a football player...go browns!

swimming

The trio are signed up for ISR swim classes with Mr. Adam. Each child has a 10min lesson... 5 days a week for approximately 6 weeks. Below are videos of their Friday lesson from the first week. They focused on getting familiar with the water, floats, and "finding mr. adam's hand..." Mateo seems to be a natural in the water... the girls just have to get over their hurdle of "going under."

wow! that's a long time!

Sorry family and friends for the delay in blogging... It isn't that we are sitting at home...doing nothing to write about... I guess the time is just getting away from me... and I know - I OWE you all some pictures!

Here's what's new....

Today we started ISR (infant swimming resource) lessons... these are intense lessons (i.e. 10 min each kid, 5 days a week, approx for 6wks) that teach drowning prevention and swimming... and the information the instructor needs each day is like documenting the triplets feeding/pooping/sleeping schedule from when they were first born! This is quite the enormous task - getting them all ready for swim and attending the lesson...but Lou and I believe it will be worth it in the end.

The trio are really starting to let their imaginations go! Today, Toe, aka "the dino"...was attacking the girls. Some days, the girls are taking care of their babies- named either Abigail, or Cindy. Mateo is loving his robot and cars... and all love to help out in the kitchen. (and of course, play Wii - the new fun game that Daddy bought.) They sing all the time and make up stories/games on a whim.

We had our favorite nanny visit last week - Lindsey... and with her help, we went to the zoo, down in the valley for a picnic, played lots outdoors... and gave Mommy some much deserved free time. (If only I could have accomplished all that was on my list.)

Abigail has grown by leaps and bounds! She loves to smile and coo... drinks like a champ (and has gained the weight to prove it) and has found her hands to be a much favored chewing toy. She enjoys tummy time (i.e. time on her tummy to improve neck strength) and can sit upright in a bumbo chair. (pictures to come later...)

How blessed I am!

easter bunny anticipation

There is nothing more exciting to a 3 year old than the anticipation of the unknown fictional character.... We didn't get a chance to see the easter bunny at the mall... so leaving out the goodies was a little confusing.... but all was great when they woke up this morning and found their baskets... now they want the easter bunny EVERY day! Happy Easter 2010... (gosh, 2010... I remember when our signs read in the 1980's!)

absolutely love this picture of the sisters

potty party

Mary has FINALLY decided that she is interested in going on the potty... it is still small baby steps - but nothing a few bribes can't handle. This is her first #2 in the potty.... and we had to celebrate!

in my opinion

Little Miss Abigail sure has a lot to say these days.....
