lot to catch up on

So, you see... it isn't that we haven't had anything new to report... it is just that things are so chaotic and busy over here that there isn't enough time to post! As I mentioned on facebook... can I add hours to our day?

Let' see... so there was Lou's ACL surgery in early Feb... (and thank you, Lolo and Lola Garcia for coming down and helping us out!) Lou is still on one crutch.. Improvements are slow and steady...not fast enough for me....but he is making leaps and bounds in his physical therapy. (I personally think the girls just like him there...the way that they continually praise him and how well he is doing...)

Mateo had a small out-patient surgery. Poor boy...let's leave it at that. He is healing nicely.

We've had to move a lot of our stuff into storage in preparation for the big move. To where? We aren't sure...we just know that Lou's contract is up in July and that we are heading.... hopefully, north :) So with gimpo over here...guess who has had to do the manual labor? All right...he did get me a massage in there to help ease my aching back...

The kiddo's are doing great and amaze us every day. Whether it is the "I can't see" when the lights go out (or, when Mary pulls her hat over her face - uh, hello?)...or the "yeah, sure" when asked if they want more veggies... or the "Amen, Alleluia, Praise Jesus" that we must say every time after we say Grace before meals... They are our true joys and we are so very blessed.

toe's song

There is a "hip hop" song that the trio absolutely love... called "let it rock." However, it has now been renamed, "toe's song" do to the fact that Toe can really break it down when he hears it. For months now, the trio have made me replay this song in the car, over and over again. Will we ever deviate enough to find a new hit?

when you dress yourself

Yep, this is what happens when you dress yourself. Arms in the legs. Instead of "howie do it" we have "gabby do it..." All by herself.

thank you lola & lolo

Thank you so much for the extended visit, Lolo & Lola. WE MISS YOU!!!

happy birthday x 2

What are the odds that Mommy and Lola would have the same exact birthday? Go figure...

can you hear me now?

Who would have thought at just 2 years of age the trio would have such high technical skills?

Hang on, Mom...just text'n my cuz...

Hey dude...waz up? Talking to you on my ear piece....

Although I am the smallest, I can handle the biggest phone!

braids my ladies...

Look beyond the hair not being evenly divided on each side.... the big deal is that the girls' hair is long enough to braid!!! At least for now.... I see the hair chopping block in their spring future..

step aside harry potter

Lola Garcia thought the Harry Potter glasses might be a good distraction for "Toe" while he was recovering... Who knew how big of a hit they would be? Step aside Harry Potter! Now all we need is an owl!

get well soon...

Mateo underwent out-patient surgery on 2/16...and he is doing just fine. (Especially since when he left he rec'd an elmo balloon!) He did, however, rec've a lot of anethesia and was walking around like a drunken sailor upon returning home... here he doesn't look terribly excited...but rest assured he was feeling no pain.

a little late...

Our friends at Studio South photography took some pictures of the trio for their 2yr birthday... yep...back in Nov of 2008! Sorry... a little late in posting them.

winter wonderland

Just a few weeks ago...when the whole country was under snow, Charlottesville had their taste of the white stuff. (But ours only lasted a few hours!) The trio were skeptical, but it didn't take long for Mateo to sit in it.

M-A-T-E-O

Mateo's attempt at saying his name.....

get well soon, daddy!

Daddy had knee surgery this past Friday (2/6) and is still in a lot of pain. (so sorry, Daddy!) But that doesn't mean that we can't climb up on him (at least his top half) and hug him and play with him. He has been such a good sport with letting the kiddo's hang around him. They quite don't understand the extent of daddy's "boo-boo" but are learning quickly to stay away from his knee.

We were fortunate enough (thank you pain killers) to get a few family shots a few hours after daddy returned home from surgery.

Finally, a family photo where everyone is looking at the camera and seems to be smiling!

Lolo & Lola came down to help with daddy's recovery....

what do you see outside?

I am not sure the fascination with looking out the window (other than curiosity of the big, wide world) but the trio love to play by the windows and windowsills. Right now, the depth of the sill is the perfect size for thier tiny hineys.... and is a great sit-about. (Just as long as mommy keeps the windows closed - EEK!) I am sure that it helps that we can occasionally see a duck outside, too. (Yep, there is a small pond not to far from our backyard...)

how lucky can I get?

How many two year olds DO YOU KNOW that will eat salmon, asparagus, and brown rice for dinner???

Yes... I know... this will be short lived. But I am enjoying their open-ness to eating almost anything while I have it.
