garcia 3, cute as can be

They are getting cuter every single day!

Mateo climbing up the slide

Gabby with Daddy (can you tell the girls are "daddy's girls?)

Gabby getting into trouble...she is standing inside our coffee table drawer!

Mary's first day with pig-tails

The three amigos

lunch (the trio are trying to learn how to use utensils)

sissy (mary says "sissy" and mateo laughs at her) .... and "mighty mouse" (gabby's strength is amazing)

night night

I can't believe how far they have come... they love to pick a "boppy" (i.e. half moon pillow) and lay back and drink their night time bottle. (Yes, we still give them the luxury of 1 bottle a day....warm milk to help soothe them to sleep and give Mom and Dad an extra hour of peace.)

and yes, that is their hair... Mary wears hers up during the day so it just poofs on top of her head at night.... not sure why Mateo's looks so bulky?!

our 1st clubhouse

As springtime turns into the glimpse of summer, I began to have anxiety attacks over what I was going to do OUTSIDE with the babies. For those that haven't seen our home, it is not an exageration to say that we don't have a backyard. Beyond our covered porch, the backyard has a steep drop-off into a grassy knoll. And as much as I love to haul 60+lbs up and down the VA hills of our development to get to the community park.... I convinced Lou that the babies needed their 1st climber/clubhouse.

So over the weekend, we went out and bought a pretty good size toy that covers the entire width and length of our porch....and it is something the babies will continue to grow into. We need to work on enclosing it....(wandering babies want to see where the grassy knoll leads....) But I think I am more excited over this whole prospect than the babies are!!!

new camera

Last week we bought a new camera... figured we needed to "step it up" since we have three kiddo's whose lives need documenting! I am not sure if you will be able to tell on the blog (we have to reduce the image so small to get it on-line) but the quality is super crisp and the picture is an instant shot...no more waiting for the flash to catch up to the picture. Which is good news since the three don't sit still long enough for me to get a good shot!

Now all I need to do is learn how to actually take a good picture...and oh yeah...not drop the camera!

can I take your order please?

I had forgotten to upload this one with the others from the park... just too cute to not pass along. Gabby made friends with a few other kids that were in the "dining" area of the playground... she loved having her order taken :) hmmmm wonder who she gets that from?

the pass-off

The Melnick family visited us today - briefly. Aunt Michele's sister, Meredith, and her husband, Paul (i.e. the Melnick's), met Uncle Jeremy at our house so that they could complete the "pass-off." (And since the Garcia house was a good meeting spot...we had the chance to visit with everyone.) The pass-off is when Aunt Michele and Uncle Jeremy (or any other generous soul) agree to watch the children of another couple so that the parents can get some quality time alone... hmmmm...sounds like something I need to look into! Any takers?

Garcia's visit Spring 2008

"OUR Lolo and Lola Garcia came to visit us last week. And just in the nick of time, too! Mommy was ready to lose it after being with us, 24-7 for 4 months without visitors! At first we didn't recognize our grandparents, but after a few days of spoiling us, we remembered them and wouldn't leave them alone! We even cried during the night because we knew they would pick us up and bring us into bed... and play with us all day and night.

We went the park almost every day with our Lolo and Lola. We also went out to eat and for ice cream, of course! Mommy got to play, too! She went to the gym almost every day to build up her cardio so that she can keep up with us!

We sure do miss our Lolo and Lola Garcia. In fact, Gabby has had to go into their bedroom each morning since they left... looking for them. She is really sad that they went back home to Cleveland."

too long

It has been too long since I posted! We have been extremely busy running around and preparing for our visitors... and time gets away from me! By the evening, I am exhausted and just want to plop down in front of the tv and escape to dream-land!

But we'll try to do better!

friends on the farm

Some friends from Jacksonville, FL headed up to North to see their family in Scottsville, VA. (Scottsville is just outside of Charlottesville - about a 30 minute drive.) You may remember Scottsville as being where Uncle Jeremy and Aunt Michele live.

Anyway, our friends family lives on a farm in Scottsville and invited us over for dinner this past Friday night. We had a great time seeing dogs, cows, horses, and a mule! It was so serene and pretty to see all the land!

to cute

I can't even remember when I snapped these shots....(but it doesn't look like it was toooo long ago!) The trio turn 16mo today. I can't believe it... middle of the first round of double digits - where does the time go?

We are still on the sick side....runny noses, high fevers... is there an end in sight??? (Who knows, but there is relief in sight... Lolo and Lola Garcia arrive tomorrow for a week long visit. And boy, are they in for some surprises!)

Gabby LOVES to drink milk. And climb. She is my true climber. I snapped this just after she had climbed into the cabinet.

Mary is my photogenic one. She loves to pose for the camera. We call her our "filipino princess."

The one who used to be laid back - is no longer. He will do anthing to keep from lying still or following directions...and he knows it. He has a sly smile when he knows that he is getting into "forbidden" territory. Although he isn't quite walking on his own yet, crawling doesn't stop him from getting into every nook and cranny there is!
