santa

Abby sure doesn't have a problem BEING santa...

but if you try to put her on santa's lap... she isn't the only one that isn't happy... The girls much prefer mrs. clause over the bearded man...

almost 11mo

As we gear up for Abby's first birthday, I realized how little I have blogged about the changes in our littlest one. (For starters, she isn't that little anymore and is quickly catching up to Gabby in size!) At 10.5mo, Abby is army crawling around the house and just recently figured out how to crawl up the stair that separates our family room from the kitchen. She has sprouted her 2nd tooth on the bottom gum and will smile at pretty much anyone that says "hello." We have taught her how to say "more" in sign language (we'll have to get a video of that) and she uses it frequently when we eat since she can eat the triplets under the table. (She starts before them and is still sitting at the table after everyone has left.) Our little sister isn't so little anymore.

happy 4th birthday, trio!

Happy 4th Birthday to Mary, Gabby, & Mateo. The past four years have flown by and I can't believe how much the trio have grown up.

Mary is still the most passionate one. When she is mad - you know. When she is happy - you know. When she is sad - you know... she wears her feelings on her sleeve. She recognizes the letters of the alphabet, and numbers by sight and loves the disney princesse's "belle" and "ariel." You will often catch her wearing a princess dress or skirt...(yes, the more sequins the better!) She is my most "loving" and often takes my face in her little hands and tells me she loves me or kisses me. She loves to watch over her little sister, Abby.

Gabby is our "know-it-all" - which is both good and bad. I can count on her to do ANYTHING that I ask. She is a sweet girl who tries to be a perfectionist and I see alot of myself in her. She is our most religious one - singing church songs and reciting prayers by heart. I have recently seen her talking to Jesus (our advent wreath on the fridge), saying the sweetest things. She also knows her ABC's and 12'3 by sight and can even write her own name! Her favorite things to do include being a "cheerleader" and playing "family" with Mary (who is little mom) and Mateo (who is little dad.)

Mateo is our great "mix" and you never quite know what you are going to get from him. One minute he is stubborn and won't let up... and the next minute is easy-going and can be talked into anything. He loves to rough house with Daddy (or anybody for that matter) and can name 1/2 of the Cavs basketball team. He is IN LOVE with sports and gaming systems ... cars and robots... dragons and dino's. He allows his sisters to pick up after him and answer the abc/123 questions that we ask him... (although I think he usually knows the answer himself). He is known as the "sweet" boy and can always bring a smile to our faces..or a laugh to the table.
