whew....

whew!!! that took a long time to post all those pics.... enjoy!

giggle buckets

The highlight of my day is when I see the trio playing together....and with sheer delight giggling at the smallest or simplist thing... here, they had just finished doing a "choo-choo" line around the house. Life IS good.

at the pool

It is amazing what a year can do - last year, the trio could barely stand in the kiddie pool in our development... and this year, they are doing choo-choo's throughout the area... they also like to get cousin Ashleigh all wet, and pretend to swim on their bellies (in the most shallow end, of course!)

park bench

This was taken just last week at a nearby park... I can't believe how old they are getting!

oldie but goodie

I found this pic on my camera phone from back in April... when the Roberston clan was visiting and we made a trip up to Home Depot... only Aunt Cas would think to put all three in the drivers seat!

fire engine

Today, Friday, June 26th, we took the kiddo's to a nearby fire station. I literally called them up this morning and inquired about how "visits" worked and they told me I could stop in today! (Keep in mind that I had called several stations over the last week to see which one was open for visitors...)

I wasn't sure how things would go... we live near a different station and say "hi" and wave to the trucks every day, but have never been this up-close and personal.

Overall, it was a neat experience and we'll have to keep our eyes out for more opportunities to play with the "big" trucks!

trio with cousin Ashleigh

Mary pointing to the flashing red lights!

Mateo... "ahhh...big toy gun for me to play with!"

best cheeseburger in town

Daddy makes THE best cheeseburgers in town... but it tastes EXTRA SPECIAL when Daddy feeds it to us... double time!

babysitter Melanie

This past year, we had a University of VA student help out as our babysitter and she became a regular in our house... Melanie Kahn. Thank you for all your help, Mel... and best wishes as you start your career!

adventure central

hmm...even with the kiddo couch, not sure we have enough room to clear the launch...

I would like to believe that Gabby is just trying to "help" her brother along, but I am pretty sure that I heard the words "move it" as she pushed him over the edge...

the girls are pretty nimble in getting over the edge now.. just a fight as to who can do it "first"!

SUPERGIRL!

Like Superman, who is able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, let us introduce "SUPERGIRL!" Well, actually... I think it may be "SUPERGIRLS!" It seems as though our daughters have taken an interest in acrobats... and like to test their strength, endurance, and climbing abilities by scaling their cribs.

At first it was just to "visit" with one another. I found Gabby in Mary's crib. I hadn't put her there and would have wondered what was going on had I not walked in on Mary attempting to get into Gabby's crib. I found her sprawled out on-top of the cribs...trying to get that booty of hers over the hump of the rail...

But then, last night... the pitter patter of little feet left Ashleigh and I (she is visiting us) looking at each other, with raised eyebrows.... Mary had escaped. Supergirl had figured out how to scale the crib.

Back to bed, Mary.... and back into bed Gabby (Gabby was again, back in Mary's crib).... but then more giggling... and how do you not smile when you see the girls doing "ring around the rosy" in Mary's crib???

Knowing that I would break down in amusement I sent Lou into discipline - we need to nip this in the bud. But asking Lou to lay down the law... well, let's just say he walked out of there shaking his head and telling me that he felt sorry for me.. Some tough dad he is..

You would think that these antic's would tire them out at 945pm... and that they would sleep in this morning... but alas, I am up at 630am typing a blog since my children are already awake.

IF they want to play this game then we'll make sure to give at least a 3' separation of cribs in the new house... let's see if they can make that leap in a single bound!

happy "stink'n" father's day

What father wouldn't want to be woken up by their wife screaming at their son, on Father's day, no less - at an hour when your eyes are trained to say.... "no, don't open yet?"

And what boy wouldn't want to play with the brown, squishy stuff that seems to be dragging his pants way down low? That stuff itches, ya know... if it sits too long...

And so we have the quandry... what to do with Mateo who has not only learned how to remove his diaper (thanks, Mary) but who has decided to upstage his sister by actually playing with the contents. Poop. Poop everywhere. I froze. Where do I begin with such a mess? Do I attempt to clean up the piles (yes, plural) that have seemed to be smeared and touched every surface of the crib and carpet, or do I attend to "the boy" who has it all over himself? Life presents us with such tough choices. That is when the scream occurred...

I seriously don't know what that boy had eaten the day/night before, but I don't know how much poop can come out at one time? I was finding "stuff" in places I didn't think even poop could reach! At least his sisters had some entertainment for the morning....

Happy Father's day (belated) Lou...

pictures

Yes, I know the title is a teaser... but alas, no pictures yet. You may call it lazy-ness, but I call it a combination of exhaustion and priority making. I am gearing up to make the big move to Cleveland next week with the kiddo's (leaving Lou behind to deal with the movers) and have been trying to organize that in my free time. (Free time? Ha! What is that? In between play dates, trips to the park, the pool....and free movies for the kids.... there is still free time? Barely.) Anyway, hoping to get some pictures up soon!

the last blueberry

As a mother, we are engrained to sacrifice for our kids. We sacrifice sleep, our time, possessions that we may want, and even in my case... we sacrafice our looks. (When was the last time I actually painted my toe nails or took a brush to my hair??)

And for a while, I let the guilt seep in on sacrificing food. My favorite foods - and well, so it seems, the triplet's favorite foods. The last strawberry is cut into 3, the last blackberry is squeezed so that it can shared.... everything down to the last drop is given to the triplets.

But now I am fighting back. I WANT the last blueberry. Who says that a mother has to give up everything for her child? They aren't going to starve because I didn't give them the last grape... or in this case, the last blueberry....

and don't you know that it was the sweetest tasting blueberry I have ever had!

nap time fun

The trio have traded in their diaper removal for something a bit more Holy - they sing rounds of "Alleluia!" I walked in on each of them holding a baby (yes, a sister was able to toss a baby to Tateo so that he could participate) singing "Alleluia" as loud as they could.

Have they totally given up the naked-ness episodes? No...but at least for the moment they are enjoying something else....

We took another whirlwind trip up to Cleveland over Memorial Day weekend where I was able to get the girl's hairs cut. As soon as I grab some free time, I will post pictures... Right now, the goal is for me and the kids to head up to Cleve in early July (permanently)...leaving Lou to deal with the movers.

The trio are growing like crazy...not only in size, but in vocabulary and interests and how they interact with one another. They "help" each other and love to tease one another by stealing the other's toy.....Ahhhhh I can only imagine what is to come!
