Chiles Peach Orchard

Hi Everyone!

We are heading up to Cleveland tomorrow (Thurs, 7/31) and I wanted to put a few pics of our latest trip to the Peach Orchard on the blog before we left... (not sure how much I can post from out of town).

Enjoy :)

shashleigh

G3 (as Uncle Ed refers to them) have really taken to their cousin Ashleigh, so we thought it would be fun to have a posting from Ashleigh as she reflects on her time with the trio.

YO people of the world. This is cuz cuz(cousin Ashleigh). It has been so long with the trips( and they are a trip). Mateo has grown to want me to hold him and no one else. Gabby and Mary have learned time out. I have learned when mom isn't around we can talk using real words and when cuz cuz tells us to say them we look blankly. I have tried to record them it don't work. I DID NOT TEACH MARY TO SAY MY NAME. One day when I went to unlock the house Mary sat in the car and was saying my name. Aunt jen is so used to having me around that my new name when we meet people is her. Aunt jen also wants me to stay with her because i know where everything is in her house. I do things without being asked, I cleaned the front room one night and she didn't noticed till we started watching tv. Mateo's pants were all ready sagging so I put the hat on him while we waited till Uncle Lou got back then it was "Steve Eurcle" for him. I have had some time to myself. I had one day off and hung out with my godfather, we went to Monticello. Then when we got back we started playing with trips. Then we had some family time, and he had to go home. He is in the country up north right now. Aunt jen and uncle Lou went on a date one night and i got to babysit. Aunt jen has had time to herself. Gabby and Mary can't sit by each other in the car if we go on a trip that is longer then an hour. My parents want me home because I'm their good child and aunt jen wants me to stay because I know what those kids do behind her back. Well see ya all. <3>(hearts) xoxo

Mary is walking around in this clip saying "Shashleigh" - her version of Ashleigh.

just pimpin'

Cousin Ash thought it would be fun to teach the trio a new way of life... a sort of new style. Baggy jeans, the sideways ball cap... all we're missing is a little "bling bling." God help us all. (Especially 12 years from now!)

mateo doing his version of break-dancing. Oh yeah, right... it's called "hip hop" now.

"Wasssup?"

"Sup?" (shortened version of "what's up?")

"I did not have..." ohh...ooops.... wrong phrase. (The closed fist with the thumb up threw me into a time warp from 1997)
"yo-yo, mamma.... i be chllin' with billie clinton"

the TUBA

Our son seems to have the gift of dance. Keep your eyes on his "bootay."

favorite invention

Mateo (actually, all of them) have discovered the water and ice dispenser on the fridge.

Mateo: "hmm...mom seems to be occupied....finally, a chance to see what this black button thing will do when I push it!!!"
Gabby: "it wasn't me"
Mary" "what the heck?" why am I stuck in here, while they are playing with the fridge?"
Mateo: "okay...here goes..."
Mateo: "Ohhhhh!!! What is that STUFF coming out of it?"
Gabby: "It wasn't me."
Mary: "Where's my breakfast? If I'm in this chair, at least I should eat! Dang it...I'm hungry"
Mateo: "uh-oh... I'm... well, I'm.... kinda all wet. How did that happen?"
Mateo: "I wonder what happens when I push that button again?"
Gabby: "it wasn't me"
Mary: "For the love of God, where is my food?"

But alas... my favorite invention... the "LOCK" button

new "survivor" cast member

I am thinking that the next time casting calls roll around, I am going to submit Mateo for SURVIVOR. Last night, he proved to me that he can outwit, outlast, and outplay anyone in the art of manipulation.

The white flag has been waved. 2+ hours of constant screaming and crying were too much for me. I tried every trick in the book....and caved... It wasn't like I could sleep anyway - between his fit and Lou's snoring.... So alas, I mentally figure out what this blog is going to read as I sit there rocking my fully awake son who seems to not know how to put himself back to sleep. Perhaps he was as frustrated as I was - not being able to sleep... I don't know.

All I know is that he will give all those cast-aways a run for their money!

giggles

Lots going on in this one...

We caught Mateo giggling on video the other day

.... and you hear Ashleigh, giggling in the background because Mary is having a hard time saying "sissy." Most times, her attempt at sissy sounds like.... sheet..... which I guess can be misconstrude as.... (well, you get the idea) sigh.

and the whole point of us trying to video the other day was to get Gabby to say "weeee" (which she says often enough... except of course, when you want to capture it on film). Notice that you hear her saying it, but the camera isn't on her?

discovery museum

The kids loved walking around our discovery museum! The theme of the rotating section was "building" and "trucks", so there was lots of exploring! I was only able to get them still for the below...

19mo

Again... a few days late... but better late than never, right? (My new motto as a triplet mother!)

Anywhoo... the trio turned 19 months on 7/7/08....

Finally! All 3 facing the camera at once...with smiles...

5 seconds later... trying to escape the torture of the picture taking...

Yep.... 5 seconds later than that... picture taking moment ca-pute!

uh, Dad... I need a hair cut

Uh... Dad? Cousin Ashleigh is tormenting me by putting my long hair up in a ponytail. She says you need to cut it....

Sissy's think it is funny to see me with my hair up like Pebbles and Bam-Bam...

Can you help a brother out and trim it up? Despite my smile, looking "girly" is not my thing....

4th of July

Yes... I am a little late in posting pic's from the 4th of July... The Garcia Family and Robertson Family joined the Schwartz Family (i.e. Jeremy & Michele) for a good ole fashioned family bbq in Scottsville, VA. For some unknown reason, I only have pictures of the trio, Robertsons, and Michele at the Scottsville parade- nothing from the bbq. Anyway, the bbq was delicious... and we had a great time!

the touch of a hand

I had a "moment" last night that I just can't let slip away....

I was up with Mateo again - and what has become his usual 2:30am crying, whining, wake up call... but this time, we had decided to let him cry it out and not pick him up at all. I had gone into his room every 10-15minutes (for over an hour)... rubbing his back, laying him back down to go to sleep, and was starting to grow very weary (not to mention extremely tired).... when around 4am it happend....

while starting to lay down again, Mateo stuck his tiny little hand out through the spindles of his crib and grabbed my hand. So simple. So sweet. So powerful. He held it tightly....as though his restful, peaceful sleep depended on it... and my heart melted.

He finally did fall asleep....and I do hope he quickly learns to sleep through the night... but for now, I guess I won't complain too much about my late night wake up calls.

...all scream for ice cream!

On our last visit to Cleveland, Pa Schwartz introduced us to the empty ice cream cone. (Mommy was not in the mood for the mess that a full cone would create.... so we started slow... just the cone itself!) The tri loved it and I thought I would try it as a snack.... note how each triplet eats their cone :)
Mateo ate his top to bottom...

Gabby ate hers one whole side at a time....

Mary ate her top to bottom... leaving the big circle for the end.
But when the Robertson's came to town....they decided it was time for the triplets to enjoy ice cream.... but not just ANY ice cream... HOME MADE strawberry ice cream. (Thank you, Uncle Ed!) The trio enjoyed!

And on the 4th of July... the triplets were spoiled once again by Uncle Jeremy & Aunt Michele who gave them ice cream sandwiches. Of course Mommy stripped them down as much as possible to avoid the inevitable clean up. And yes... Mateo still had to be hosed down.

(at one point, Mateo started to grab Gabby's ice cream because his wasn't enough!)
"say what?"

"Are you sure I can't fit any more in my mouth?"

Robertson Family visit

We enjoyed a nice, long weekend visit from the Robertson Family (Aunt Cas, Uncle Ed, Cousins' Kelsey, Ashleigh, and Izzy-bell)! Lots of laughs, ice cream and screaming kids (who enjoyed every single bit of attention.)

Thank you for coming and staying with us! (more pic's from the 4th to come...)
